When LOOKING to buy a house-always check the neighbours. That’s just about the only thing you can’t change if you buy the house. Here’s how I do it: Go door-to-door to all the potential neighbours, knock on the door and say:
“Hi my name is Bill and we’re thinking about buying the house next to you. Is there anything you can tell me about it that may help us make a decision?”
You will get some useful information BUT you’ll also get to meet and size up your potential neighbours and see if you want to live next to these people. Always visit the neighbours in private. You may get some surprises.
